So part of a recent session I ran is about closed and open questioning.
The point being that closed questioning takes a long time to get a response as all you get is YES or NO answers.
Usually delegates take a while to get to the answer when I ask one of them to pick a secret and field questions about it from their group until they get to the answer.
23 questions....you're a secret cross dresser
27 questions.....I was Robson Green's love child ....and so it goes on...
The record is 12 by the way (to get to the secret) or at least it was until last week when feeding back the groups said “It took us 29, 17, 23 etc etc”.
One group however, managed it in 2. “Two questions,” I challenged, “that is brilliant, how on earth did you do that?”
“Easy, “ came the reply, “My secret was that I’d met a member of the Royal Family and I told them at the start....then they asked me ..
Is it a woman? NO
Is it Prince Charles? YES
Job done.
Hi Andy,I took your advice and hovered over to your blog after you mentioned it to us and I must say youve given me a good giggle!Ill definitely be back checking frequently to see what else youve been up to.Thanks for the great training today, really enjoyed it by the way!Oh, and feel free to look through my old site that Ive attached. When I was a bored student in Sunderland I used to keep a diary / story-telling website. Kept me sane amidst all of the alcohol!
